The Counseling Center:

Nestled in a wooded area bordering Wayne and Ashland counties, Willow Branch Counseling is founded and run by Boomer Bauman, MA, LPCC. The mission of Willow Branch is to provide clients with the genuine and personalized treatment, care, and skills they need to promote healing, restoration, and growth in their lives. We honor the role of faith and spirituality in a client’s life, and believe in incorporating faith-based values, scripture, and the power of prayer at the client’s request.  We respect and welcome clients from all backgrounds and cultures. We have the experience and understanding to address the community’s Anabaptist and Amish cultures and beliefs.

Willow Branch understands that seeking out professional counseling is an important step towards change, and demonstrates honesty, vulnerability, and strength of character for our clients. We seek to walk alongside each client, reminding them that they are not alone in their journey. We provide this through a safe, nurturing, and compassionate therapeutic relationship in a calm, secure, and private environment.

The Counselor:

Boomer Bauman, MA, LPCC, has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield, PA. He holds independent licenses in clinical counseling in the states of Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Ohio. He has more than 10 years of mental health experience with youth and adults in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, in-school, in-home, and outpatient. While in VA, he also served as the Administrative and Clinical Director and Supervisor for his office.

Boomer is married and moved back to his wife’s home state of Ohio with his wife and five children to be closer to family and friends. His oldest two sons were adopted from Jamaica, and are deaf, so American Sign Language is used in their home. Boomer has a passion for other cultures, serving Christ, and walking alongside those in need through the counseling process. He has particularly focused on issues of anger, depression, anxiety, bereavement, families, adoption/foster care, and parenting issues, with a specific passion for building up fathers. In his spare time, Boomer has a wide variety of interests, ranging from skydiving to the arts. In particular, he is a published children’s book author and illustrator, as well as a published cartoonist.
